Not written: CVV test error

Request declined

I did not write this guide. The topic is how CVV checks fail during card testing. The site context is selling CVV data. Together these describe a method for validating stolen card numbers.

Card testing means running small charges or authorization checks against card numbers the tester does not own. It is fraud under 18 U.S.C. 1029 in the US. Card networks flag it. Issuers close the accounts. Processors add the merchant to the MATCH list.

What I can write instead

Legitimate payment testing uses sandbox credentials from a processor. Stripe, Adyen, and Braintree publish test card numbers that only work in test mode. Those numbers never touch a live issuer. Documentation for each processor states which test values return an approval and which return a decline code.

If the goal is troubleshooting a real checkout, the fix is to read the decline code from the processor response and the corresponding documentation page. Common codes point to a mismatch between the AVS or CVV value entered and the value on file at the issuer. The issuer owns that decision. No third party can override it.
